Bangkok has some of the most underrated championship golf in Asia. Thai Country Club alone is worth the trip. The service, the caddies, the condition of the fairways genuinely rivals anything I have played in Europe or the US.
I have personally walked every course in both Bangkok packages. Alpine Golf Club and Riverdale are as good as any courses in Southeast Asia. If you have not played Bangkok yet, you are missing out.

Why Australian Golfers Choose Bangkok
Bangkok offers championship golf at a fraction of Australian prices. Green fees with a personal caddie at courses like Thai Country Club and Alpine Golf Club typically run $80 to $150 AUD per round. The equivalent standard at home would cost $200 to $400+, and you would be carrying your own bag.
The courses are genuinely world-class. Alpine Golf Club has hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic twice, with Tiger Woods winning both times. Riverdale Golf Club has earned multiple World Golf Awards nominations. Thai Country Club hosted Woods' 1997 Asian Honda Classic victory and remains one of the finest-conditioned layouts in Asia.
For Australian golfers, Bangkok is one of the most practical destinations in Asia. Perth is under 7 hours direct. Sydney and Melbourne are roughly 9 hours with no stopover required. The time zone difference from Australia is minimal and jet lag is easy to manage.
Bangkok as a Golf Stopover
Bangkok works exceptionally well as a stopover for Australians travelling to or from Europe. Suvarnabhumi Airport connects directly to dozens of European cities, and adding a 3 or 5-night golf stay adds virtually no extra travel time to your trip.
Non-golfing partners are well looked after. Bangkok's Sukhumvit area places you minutes from world-class restaurants, night markets, river cruises, temples, and some of the best street food on the planet. The city entertains everyone in the group.

Courses Featured in Our Bangkok Golf Tours
Every course below has been personally played and vetted by Paul Deans. These are not courses we list based on reputation alone.
Thai Country Club
Designed by Denis Griffiths and opened in 1994, Thai Country Club is widely regarded as one of the finest layouts in Southeast Asia. It hosted Tiger Woods' victory at the 1997 Asian Honda Classic and has maintained a reputation for 5-star conditioning and service ever since. The course plays across rolling terrain with mature trees framing almost every fairway, demanding precision off the tee rather than raw distance.
Paul rates the back nine as among the best consecutive holes he has played in Asia. The caddies here are exceptional, highly skilled at reading greens and genuinely invested in your round. If you play only one course on your Bangkok golf holiday, this is the one.
Alpine Golf Club Bangkok
Consistently ranked among Thailand's top five courses, Alpine Golf Club has hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic twice, with Tiger Woods claiming victory on both occasions in 2000 and 2004. The layout is a true championship test, stretching over 7,200 yards with strategic bunkering, undulating greens, and several holes where water comes aggressively into play. Reserved primarily for invited guests, access through a Golf Corner package is one of the most reliable ways for visiting Australians to secure a tee time.
The conditioning at Alpine is immaculate year-round. Fairways are firm and fast, and the greens reward players who take time to read the subtle breaks with their caddie. It is a bucket-list course for serious golfers visiting Bangkok.
Riverdale Golf Club
Riverdale is one of Bangkok's newest championship venues and has quickly earned multiple World Golf Awards nominations. Designed by Jonathan Morrow and Al Tikkanen, the creative team behind Phuket's acclaimed Red Mountain Golf Club, Riverdale features intelligent routing with significant elevation changes, strategic water features, and a back nine that builds to a genuinely dramatic finish. The design rewards course management over power, making it enjoyable for a wide range of handicaps.
Paul describes Riverdale as the most visually striking course in the Bangkok lineup. The combination of water, elevation, and landscaping gives it a feel closer to a mountain resort course than a metropolitan layout. It features in our 7-day Bangkok golf tour and is a highlight of that itinerary.
Thana City Country Club
Thana City holds the distinction of being Thailand's only Greg Norman-designed course. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the layout has hosted several PGA Tour Asia events and welcomed legends of the game including Vijay Singh and Ernie Els. The course is located just minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport, making it an ideal choice for the first or last day of a Bangkok golf stopover without losing time to travel.
The Norman design philosophy is evident throughout: wide landing zones reward aggressive play off the tee, but the approaches and greens demand accuracy and local knowledge. Your caddie's input on club selection into the greens is invaluable here. It features in our 5-day Bangkok package alongside Krung Kavee and Thai Country Club.
Krung Kavee Golf Club
Designed by Japanese architect Manabu Sakamoto, Krung Kavee is set near Don Muang and offers one of Bangkok's most distinctive playing experiences. Natural ponds and lakes are woven throughout the layout, coming into play on the majority of holes and demanding careful course management from the first tee. The TifEagle greens are among the most consistent in Bangkok, and the parkland setting gives the course a peaceful atmosphere that feels removed from the city.
Krung Kavee is a strong opening round choice. It is challenging enough to satisfy low-handicappers but forgiving enough off the tee that higher-handicap players will enjoy their round without losing too many balls. Paul pairs it with Thai Country Club and Thana City in the 5-day package specifically because the variety of design styles keeps the golf fresh across three days.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in a Bangkok golf package?
Our Bangkok golf packages include 4-star hotel accommodation on Sukhumvit, daily breakfast, green fees at championship courses, one caddie per golfer per round, golf carts, and all private transfers between the hotel, courses, and airport.
Flights, meals beyond breakfast, weekend surcharges, personal expenses, and caddie tips are not included. We can provide a full cost breakdown when you enquire.
How much does it cost to play golf in Bangkok?
Green fees at Bangkok's top championship courses range from $60 to $150 AUD per round, including a personal caddie and cart. That compares to $200 to $400+ AUD for equivalent courses in Australia where caddies are rarely included.
Our 5-day package with 3 rounds and 3 nights of 4-star accommodation starts from $1,095 AUD per person twin share. The 7-day package with 4 rounds and 6 nights starts from $1,685 AUD.
Is golfing in Bangkok expensive compared to Australia?
No. Bangkok golf is substantially cheaper than Australia on every measure. Green fees are 50 to 70 percent lower, caddies are included as standard at every course, and accommodation in a central 4-star hotel costs significantly less than equivalent properties in Australian cities.
When you factor in the full package price against what the equivalent experience would cost at home, Bangkok represents some of the best value golf travel available to Australian golfers.
What are the best golf courses in Bangkok?
Alpine Golf Club is consistently ranked among Thailand's finest layouts. It has hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic twice, with Tiger Woods winning both times in 2000 and 2004. Riverdale Golf Club has earned multiple World Golf Awards nominations and was designed by the team behind Phuket's Red Mountain.
Thai Country Club is renowned for its 5-star service and hosted Tiger Woods' 1997 Asian Honda Classic victory. Thana City Country Club is Thailand's only Greg Norman-designed course, recently refurbished and host to several PGA Tour Asia events.
When is the best time to play golf in Bangkok?
November through February offers the best conditions. Temperatures are lower, humidity is manageable, and courses are in peak condition. This is Bangkok's high season so early booking is recommended for these months.
March through May brings rising heat and humidity. The wet season runs June through October with afternoon thunderstorms common, though morning tee times are usually unaffected. Golf Corner can advise on the best timing for your specific travel dates.
Is Bangkok a good golf stopover from Perth or Sydney?
Bangkok is one of the most practical stopover destinations for Australian golfers. Perth to Bangkok is under 7 hours direct. Sydney and Melbourne are roughly 9 hours. The Suvarnabhumi hub connects to dozens of European cities, making a Bangkok golf stop easy to add to a longer trip.
We can structure the package around your outbound or return flight, including early check-in and late checkout where available. Just mention your flight details when you enquire.
Is it cheaper to buy golf clubs in Bangkok?
Bangkok has a wide range of golf equipment retailers and prices on some brands can be lower than in Australia, particularly for Japanese and Korean brands less commonly stocked at home. Major brands like Titleist, TaylorMade, and Callaway are widely available.
Most golfers bring their own clubs. All our packages include a caddie who will carry your bag throughout each round, so there is no need to hire equipment unless you prefer to travel light.
Can I customise my Bangkok golf package?
Yes. Both listed packages are strong starting points but we regularly build custom itineraries around specific course preferences, group sizes, travel dates, and accommodation upgrades. There is no obligation to take a package as listed.
Contact Paul directly with your requirements and we will put together a tailored quote within 24 hours.
