Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mauritius good for golf?
Mauritius is one of the Indian Ocean's premier golf destinations. The island has around eight championship courses, including Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club, Heritage Golf Club, and Anahita Golf Club, designed by legends such as Bernhard Langer and Ernie Els.
For Australian golfers the added appeal is the luxury resort model. Most courses sit directly alongside five-star beachfront hotels, so you can play in the morning and unwind by the lagoon in the afternoon.
How long is the flight from Perth to Mauritius?
The direct Air Mauritius flight from Perth to Mauritius takes approximately 8 hours 5 minutes outbound and 7 hours 5 minutes on the return leg. Air Mauritius is the only airline operating non-stop services on this route.
From Sydney and Melbourne expect 12 to 14 hours total including a Perth or Singapore connection. We can package direct Air Mauritius flights from Perth into your itinerary on request.
Is it expensive to play golf in Mauritius?
Green fees at championship courses run from approximately AUD $120 to $250 per round when booked independently. Golf Corner's packages include unlimited golf as part of the resort rate, which reduces the effective cost per round significantly.
When accommodation, meals, and transfers are bundled together, Mauritius offers strong value compared to booking each element separately, particularly at the five-star all-inclusive properties.
What is the best golf course in Mauritius?
Heritage Golf Club at Heritage Awali Resort is widely regarded as the finest layout on the island. It hosts the DP World Tour's AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and offers a demanding championship test through tropical terrain.
Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club is a close second for scenery. It sits on its own private island accessible by boat, with ocean views on nearly every hole. Both courses feature across Golf Corner's Mauritius packages.
What is included in a Mauritius golf package?
Golf Corner's Mauritius packages include resort accommodation, return airport transfers, and either unlimited golf or a set number of rounds. Meal inclusions vary by package: some are half board (breakfast and dinner), others are fully all-inclusive with all meals and drinks.
Our baseline packages are land-only. Golf Corner is a fully licensed travel agency and can package direct Air Mauritius flights from Perth, Sydney, or Melbourne into your itinerary on request.
When is the best time to play golf in Mauritius?
The best conditions for Australian visitors are May to November during Mauritius's dry, cooler season. Temperatures sit between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius with lower humidity, which makes for ideal walking-round weather.
December to April is the wet season and can bring tropical cyclones, though golf continues year-round. The shoulder months of April to May and October to November offer pleasant conditions with less peak-season pressure on availability.
Do I need a visa to travel to Mauritius from Australia?
Australian passport holders do not need a visa for tourist stays in Mauritius of up to 90 days. You will need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay, proof of onward or return travel, and confirmation of your accommodation.
Always check the latest entry requirements with the Mauritius High Commission or via Smartraveller before booking. Requirements can change with little notice.
Can I customise my Mauritius golf package?
Yes. All Golf Corner packages can be tailored to your group. If you want to combine resorts, extend your stay, or play multiple courses across the island, Paul will build you a bespoke itinerary.
Contact Golf Corner via the booking page to discuss your requirements. Paul personally responds to all enquiries.

"I have played Ile aux Cerfs multiple times and it remains one of the most spectacular rounds I have experienced anywhere in the world. Every course I list here I have walked myself."
