The Real Cost of Golf in Bali: 2026 Green Fee & Total Round Cost Guide for Australian Golfers
All-in round costs, transfer fees, caddie tipping standards, and operator rates sourced from course booking platforms and 20+ years of Golf Corner operator records.
Abstract
- The published green fee at New Kuta Golf is approximately AUD $150. The true all-in cost per round, once a minimum caddie gratuity is added, is closer to AUD $170–200. This gap is consistent across every active Bali course and almost never disclosed upfront.
- Across a four-round Bali itinerary, caddie gratuities alone add approximately AUD $70–90 to the total golf budget. This figure is excluded from all published rates at every course in this index.
- Bali Handara is the most consistently underbudgeted round in Bali. The 70km, two-hour drive from south Bali adds AUD $55–75 per car in return transfers — a budget line almost universally omitted from Bali golf content.
- Bali National Golf Club permanently closed on 30 April 2025, leaving three active courses for visiting Australian golfers. All three are covered in full with independently sourced, linked pricing data.
- An independently booked 4-round, 7-night Bali golf trip at published rack rates totals approximately AUD $1,966–$2,543 per person including flights from Perth.
About this research
This index combines two data types. Published rates are drawn directly from course booking platforms, each linked and accessed April 2026, and can be independently verified. Operator rates reflect Golf Corner's negotiated pricing from booking records spanning 2003–2026 and are exclusive to this publication. Both are clearly labelled throughout.
Exchange rates: All AUD conversions use April 2026 interbank approximations. Recalculate at time of booking.
Market note: Bali National Golf Club permanently closed on 30 April 2025. Last known rack rate approximately AUD $360–460 per round. Not bookable. This index covers the three remaining active courses only.
1. The Three Active Courses: Green Fees and All-In Round Costs
Bali uses a cleaner pricing model than Thailand. At every course below, the published green fee bundles the cart and caddie service into a single rate. The one consistent addition is the caddie gratuity, which is excluded from all published rates but is expected as standard practice. It is the single most common hidden cost in Bali golf.
1.1 New Kuta Golf — Par 72, 18 holes
Published rate sources: baligolfspot.com and easygolfbali.com, accessed April 2026.
| Cost item | AUD estimate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Published green fee (incl. cart + caddie) | ~$150–175 | All-inclusive published rate; varies by booking channel |
| Caddie gratuity (minimum) | ~$20–25 | Not included in published rate; cash expected at end of round |
| True all-in cost per round | ~$170–200 | Published rate + minimum gratuity |
| Club hire (if required) | ~$45–55 | Optional; premium set. Additional to round total. |

New Kuta is the default first round for most Australian Bali itineraries: it sits 20 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport within the south Bali hotel corridor. At AUD $170–200 all-in with a dedicated caddie, it compares directly to a mid-tier Melbourne Sandbelt round, but with caddie service and an ocean setting included as standard. Equivalent caddie hire at an Australian course starts at AUD $80–120 per round where it exists at all.
1.2 Bali Handara Golf & Resort — Par 72, 18 holes
Published rate sources: gogolf.co.id (2026 confirmed) and easygolfbali.com, accessed April 2026.
| Cost item | AUD estimate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Published green fee (incl. cart + caddie + insurance + tax) | ~$190–195 | easygolfbali.com quotes USD $125 discounted rate |
| Caddie gratuity (minimum) | ~$15–20 | Not included in published rate; cash expected |
| True all-in cost per round (excl. transfer) | ~$205–215 | Published rate + minimum gratuity |
| Return transfer from south Bali | ~$55–75 per car | Critical additional cost. Handara is 70km / ~2 hours from south Bali. Solo or pair travellers pay the full car rate. See Section 3. |

Handara is the most consistently underbudgeted round in Bali. A solo traveller arranging their own transfer from Seminyak will pay AUD $260–290 all-in for the day. A group of four sharing a car brings that figure down to AUD $220–230 each.
1.3 Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club — Par 54, 18 holes (par 3)
Published rate sources: leadingcourses.com (weekday) and baligolfers.com (weekend), accessed April 2026.
Course classification: Bukit Pandawa is an 18-hole par-3 layout, not a par-72 championship course. A round takes approximately 120 minutes. It is the only active course in this index with a confirmed weekend surcharge.
| Cost item | Weekday (AUD) | Weekend (AUD) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published green fee (incl. cart + caddie) | ~$115–125 | ~$135–145 | Weekend/public holiday surcharge approx. 19% |
| Caddie gratuity (minimum) | ~$15–20 | ~$15–20 | Not included in published rate; cash expected |
| True all-in cost per round | ~$130–145 | ~$150–165 | Published rate + minimum gratuity |
Note: Published weekday prices vary between approximately AUD $115–125 across booking platforms (April 2026). Confirm current rate directly at time of booking.
2. Consolidated Cost Comparison: All Active Courses on a Like-for-Like Basis
The table below consolidates all three active courses on the same basis: published green fee plus minimum caddie gratuity, April 2026 published rates. Transfer costs are excluded here and addressed in Section 3.
| Course | Published rate (AUD) | Min. gratuity (AUD) | True all-in (AUD) | Weekend premium | Course type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| New Kuta Golf | ~$150–175 | ~$20–25 | ~$170–200 | None confirmed | Par 72, 18 holes |
| Bali Handara | ~$190–195 | ~$15–20 | ~$205–215 | None confirmed | Par 72, 18 holes |
| Bukit Pandawa (weekday) | ~$115–125 | ~$15–20 | ~$130–145 | +19% on weekends | Par 54, 18 holes (par 3) |
| Bukit Pandawa (weekend) | ~$135–145 | ~$15–20 | ~$150–165 | — | Par 54, 18 holes (par 3) |
| Bali National Golf Club | Permanently closed 30 April 2025. Last known rack rate: approx. AUD $360–460 per round. Not bookable. | — | |||
All published rates: April 2026. Caddie gratuity figures based on Golf Corner operator records and published booking platform guidance.
Across a four-round Bali itinerary comprising two rounds at New Kuta, one at Handara, and one at Bukit Pandawa, caddie gratuities alone add approximately AUD $70–90 to the total golf cost. Budget for it in cash before you leave Australia.
3. Transfer Costs: The Budget Line Most Bali Golf Content Ignores
In Thailand's Hua Hin, five premium courses sit within 20 minutes of the main hotel strip. In Bali, courses span three distinct geographic zones. A golfer who budgets only the green fee and caddie gratuity will underestimate a Handara day by approximately 25–35%.
| Course | Distance | Drive time | Return transfer (per car) | Per person (4-pax) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New Kuta Golf | ~20km | ~20–30 min | ~AUD $35–45 | ~AUD $9–11 |
| Bukit Pandawa | ~25km | ~25–35 min | ~AUD $35–45 | ~AUD $9–11 |
| Bali Handara | ~70km | ~90–120 min each way | ~AUD $55–75 | ~AUD $14–19 |
Source: easygolfbali.com and baligolfspot.com, accessed April 2026. Solo travellers and pairs pay the full car rate regardless of passenger count.
Handara is the critical planning point. The 90–120 minute one-way drive means a Handara round is a full-day commitment. Operators typically route it as a dedicated day, sometimes combining the return drive with a stop at Bedugul lakes or Tanah Lot. Independent golfers should factor four to five hours of driving into the day's schedule in addition to the round itself.
4. Full Trip Cost Model: 4-Round, 7-Night Bali Golf Itinerary (2026)
The table below models a standard four-round Bali itinerary using published rack rates throughout. This is the independent booking cost with no operator negotiation.
| Cost item | Basis | Estimated cost (AUD) |
|---|---|---|
| Green fees: New Kuta Golf ×2 | Published rack rate, per person | ~$300–350 |
| Green fees: Bali Handara ×1 | Published rack rate, per person | ~$190–195 |
| Green fees: Bukit Pandawa ×1 | Published rack rate (weekday), per person | ~$115–125 |
| Caddie gratuities: 4 rounds | Minimum gratuity, per person | ~$70–90 |
| Transfers: 3 south Bali rounds | Return car, per person (4-pax) | ~$27–34 |
| Transfer: Handara return | Return car, per person (4-pax) | ~$14–19 |
| Golf subtotal | — | ~$716–813 |
| Accommodation: 7 nights | 4-star hotel, Seminyak / Kuta (indicative) | ~$700–900 |
| Meals: 7 days | Breakfast incl. + 2 meals daily, mid-range | ~$200–280 |
| Flights (Perth–Bali return) | Indicative, economy, mid-2026 | ~$350–550 |
| Estimated total (independent booking) | — | ~$1,966–$2,543 |
Independent booking total at published rack rates with no operator negotiation. Packaged operator rates typically bring total cost closer to or below the lower bound of this range.
Golf Corner's escorted Bali golf packages start from AUD $2,995 per person twin share for a seven-night, three-tournament-round package (Bali Amateur Open, 31 May–6 June 2026), inclusive of accommodation, green fees, caddies, carts, private transfers, and social events. Contact Paul directly for custom non-tournament packages.
5. Benchmarking Against Australian Green Fees
| Course | Visitor access | Approx. rate (AUD) | Caddie included? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barnbougle Dunes (Tasmania) | Public; bookable online | ~$275–350 (peak) | No |
| New South Wales Golf Club | Limited visitor access | ~$350+ | No |
| Premium Melbourne Sandbelt (visitor) | Reciprocal arrangements | ~$100–250 | No |
| Royal Melbourne (both courses) | Private introduction only | Not publicly bookable | No |
At AUD $170–200 all-in, a round at New Kuta sits below a peak-season Barnbougle round and within the Melbourne Sandbelt visitor range. The substantive difference is what the Bali price includes: a dedicated professional caddie for the full round, cart, insurance, and water. Equivalent caddie service in Australia, where it exists at all, starts at AUD $80–120 as an additional charge on top of the green fee.
Bali Handara at AUD $205–215 all-in (excluding transfer) is less than a single peak-season Barnbougle round, for a mountain highland course at 1,150 metres elevation with a personal caddie included. There is no equivalent product at that price point in the Australian domestic market.
